Video Stream: O’Regan Releases Update for Georgia CORE Breast Cancer Trials

Ruth O’Regan, MD, Associate Professor of Hematology and Oncology at the Emory Winship Cancer Institute, Director of Winship's Translational Breast Cancer Research Program and a Georgia Cancer Coalition Distinguished Cancer Scholar, has released the second series of an educational video program to provide updates for the Georgia CORE breast cancer trials. The educational program is funded by the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
In this video update, Dr. O’Regan describes the schema of the trials and provides pertinent information about the protocols:

  • Randomized Phase II Trial of Sequential Docetaxel followed by Capecitabine versus Concomitant Docetaxel/Capecitabine as Induction Therapy for Early Stage Breast Cancer

  • Phase II Neoadjuvant Trial of Trastuzumab in Combination with Dose-Dense ABI-007 (Abraxane) Followed by Vinorelbine for HER2 Overexpressing Early Stage Breast Cancer

Dr. O’Regan also introduces a new metastatic triple negative trial: Phase II Trial of Gemcitabine and Oxaliplatin for ER-, PR-, HER2Neu- (Triple Negative) Metastatic Breast Cancer.
