On June 19, 2007, Georgia CORE hosted a Cancer Clinical Trials: Tools, Trends and Training meeting for clinical research personnel across the state in Macon, GA. the featured speaker, Theresa W. Gillespie, PhD, RN, presented on tools for Standard Operating Procedures in Oncology Clinical Trials. Nancy M. Paris, Georgia CORE President, presented on the existing trends of cancer in Georgia and where clinical trials are located. Jane Clark, Georgia CORE Consultant, presented the group with a draft for the Clinical Trials Orientation Curriculum, based on feedback given in the 2006 Cancer Clinical Research Meeting. The meeting included over 50 participants, including research coordinators, data managers, research nurses, clinical research managers, research directors, and nurse navigators.
