Georgia CORE Welcomes New Research Committee Chair and Executive Board Member

Georgia CORE, the Center for Oncology Research and Education, announces the appointment of Dr. Jayanthi Srinivasiah of Georgia Cancer Specialists as Research Committee Chair and Executive Committee Member of its Board of Directors. 

Dr. Srinivasiah is a Medical Oncologist who practices at Georgia Cancer Specialists in both Decatur and Johns Creek, Georgia. She chairs the Cancer Committee at DeKalb Medical, which includes the chairing of the Clinical Trials and Genetics Committees. She is very active in recruiting patients for participation in clinical trials, and emphasizes care of the whole patient throughout cancer treatment.

Dr. Srinivasiah received her Doctor of Medicine from the Bangalore Medical College in Bangalore, India. She completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa, a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Chicago, and a fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at Emory University. She was previously board-certified in Internal Medicine, and is currently board-certified in Hematology and Medical Oncology. Dr. Srinivasiah’s professional affiliations include the Medical Association of Georgia, the DeKalb County Medical Society, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the Georgia Society of Clinical Oncology.

Dr. Srinivasiah is also an active participant in Georgia CORE’s research network. “She is consistently opening clinical trials that offer new and effective cancer treatments to her patients,” said Nancy Paris, President of Georgia CORE. “Recently Dr. Srinivasiah received a leadership award from the National Cancer Institute for her commitment to enrolling patients in clinical trials.”
