AFLAC Incorporated : Aflac Foundation Helps Underwrite New Cancer Information Website

March 30, 2012

COLUMBUS, Ga. - March 27, 2012 - Aflac, the number one provider of supplemental insurance in the United States, serving more than 465,000 businesses and 50 million people worldwide, has donated $25,000 to the Georgia Center for Oncology Research and Education (CORE) to help improve cancer care in Georgia. The donation will help sustain Georgia CORE's new website, GeorgiaCancerInfo.org, which is an information tool designed to improve clinical research throughout the state. Georgia CORE is an independent, nonprofit organization.

"When people face a challenging medical diagnosis, they need ready access to clear and accurate information about clinical trials, medical experts and other concerns," Aflac Foundation President Kathelen Amos said. "We are proud to underwrite this website because it cuts through the clutter of the Internet to provide Georgia families with dependable data by typing a few letters on a keyboard."
