Representing the Georgia Society of Clinical Oncology (GASCO) Dr. Assikis is a medical oncologist in private practice at Peachtree Hematology-Oncology Consultants, PC in Atlanta, Georgia. He serves as leader of Genitourinary Research Program at Peachtree Hematology Oncology (Piedmont Healthcare). He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.

Dr. Assikis is an IRB member and former Director of Prostate Cancer Translational Research at the Winship Cancer Institute. His research interests include the design and execution of clinical trials in urologic malignancies and education of cancer professionals on the merits of multidisciplinary approach.

Dr. Assikis earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki, Greece and completed a Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
